Role Feed Innovation Services: Project leader
Project partner(s): Feed producers
Contact person: Arjan van der Kolk, MSc or Matthew Wedzerai, MSc
Summary: Development of premixes for different animal categories and phases of growth, suitable for the climatic conditions of African countries; with the intention of improving feed quality and animal production. Feed formulation advice is also combined with these tailor-made feed products.

Title: Healthy seedlings for young animals
Period: 2017-2019
Role Feed Innovation Services: Project leader
Project partner(s): –
Contact person: Arjan van der Kolk, MSc
Summary: This project focuses on the feasibility of developing healthy seedlings for young animals; through seed germination trials and a small-scale animal feed trial. Recently, it became clear that the content of specific bioactive health promoting compounds in seedlings can be enhanced by modifications during the germination process; the level of specific anti-nutritional factors (ANF’s) is also reduced during germination.
